Food Handler Card

If you prepare or serve food in a licensed food facility you are required to get a food handlers card. All food service workers including, but not limited to, cooks, wait staff, dishwashers, delivery drivers, and bus persons must obtain their card within 30 days of starting work.

Food Handler Card Information:

The cost of the card is $10.00 and the card is valid for three years.
Food handler cards issued in Oregon from any county are valid.
A valid, non-expired food manager training certificate is an accepted alternative.
Food handler cards issued in other states are not valid in Oregon.

How can I get a card?

Please note that you will need a Visa or Mastercard to pay for your certificate, as well as access to a printer to print your certificate with.

In Person: NCPHD offers walk-in test services by appointment only.
Please contact the Environmental Health office at 541-506-2603 for more information. Accommodations may be requested if needed.
