Free Backpacks for Kids Getting Childhood Immunizations
School is just around the corner and North Central Public Health District and other local clinics are offering free name-brand backpacks loaded with school supplies to families who bring in their children for well-child checkups or childhood immunizations.
The backpacks are available at NCPHD, which offers childhood immunizations, and One Community Health in The Dalles and Mid-Columbia Medical Center’s family medicine and pediatrics clinics, which offer immunizations and well-child visits.
Name-brand backpacks from Jansport, High Sierra and Head come with school supplies for both younger and older students. Supplies include crayons, pencils, colored pencils, scissors, markers, erasers and rulers.
The wide variety of backpacks are a bonus, on top of getting immunizations that protect children from childhood diseases like measles, whooping cough and rubella.
Supplies are limited, so please call your healthcare provider to schedule a well-child visit or immunization, or call NCPHD at 541-506-2600 to schedule an immunization.
The local medical clinics are working together to create support for children and their parents as they undertake a new school year. The bedrock of learning is based on children being in good health and ready to learn when arriving at school. Here’s a chance for you to set the foundation for a great school year.
