Weekly Vaccine Report for Week ending June 26

At least 24,700 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Wasco, Sherman and Gilliam counties through June 26. Most vaccines now are being done through the mobile vaccine clinic at St. Mary’s Academy, which just administered its 1,000th dose last Friday.

Through last Saturday, 24,696 doses have been administered by a number of entities in the service area of North Central Public Health District (NCPHD), which covers Wasco, Sherman and Gilliam counties.

The mobile vaccine clinic at St. Mary’s, 1112 Cherry Heights Rd., has done 1,071 doses through last Friday. The mobile clinic has modified its hours due to heat and will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the duration of its stay, through July 14.

No appointments are needed at the mobile clinic. It offers free Pfizer vaccine and Johnson & Johnson vaccine and people can walk-up or drive-through. People who live in Wasco County or out of state people who work in Wasco County (and their age-eligible family members) receive a $50 gift card.

Local pharmacies, including Walgreen’s, Safeway, Rite-Aid, Fred Meyer and Bi-Mart in The Dalles and Murray’s Drug in Condon also offer vaccines. Their dose totals are not included in this count.

For the week ending June 26, NCPHD administered 37 doses, for a cumulative total of 15,726.

One Community Health administered 32 doses, for a cumulative total of 3,075.

Deschutes Rim Clinic continues to offer vaccine and has done a cumulative total of 561.

Other local entities have previously administered 4,263 doses. Those entities are Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue, Mid-Columbia Medical Center, Sherman County Medical Center, Arlington Medical Center, and South Gilliam Health Center, and local long term care facilities.

NCPHD has also begun small vaccine clinics Thursdays from noon-2 p.m. To book an appointment, call 541-506-2600.

All Oregonians 12 and older are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, and Oregonians 18 and older are eligible for the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Wasco County has vaccinated 61.8 percent of those 16 and older, Sherman County has vaccinated 53 percent, and Gilliam County 42.6 percent.

All Oregonians 18 and older who got the vaccine through June 27 were entered into a $1 million state lottery and $10,000 county lotteries. Youth 12-17 were eligible for five $100,000 scholarships. Names were drawn Monday and winners will be notified this week and announced next week.
