Tourist Accommodations, Recreational Parks, and Organizational Camps
A tourist accommodation is any facility consisting of two or more rooms or dwelling units (either joined together or separate on a common piece of property) providing lodging and other accommodations to the general public, such as:
Hotels, motor hotels (motels)
Cottages and homes with two or more rooms available for the public
Includes campgrounds, recreational vehicle parks, and bed and breakfast inns (specific licensure and rules apply here, see below).
Any similar place by whatever name called, and any food, beverage, laundry, recreational or other facilities or establishments operated in conjunction therewith.
A tourist accommodation is not a facility intended for permanent residence, or a facility available only to members of a club or through private lease or invitation.
All tourist accommodations in Wasco, Sherman, and Gilliam Counties must have a permit and a current license from our Environmental Health Services department to operate.
Environmental Health Specialists inspect tourist accommodation facilities routinely to ensure they are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner and in accordance to the Rules and Regulations for operating tourist accommodations set forth by the State of Oregon
